Tyson Fury’s reaction to his fight with Francis Ngannou

Reigning WBC heavyweight boxing champion Tyson Fury, who narrowly defeated former UFC titleholder Francis Ngannou by split decision, has explained why he was on the verge of defeat in a fight that should have been nothing more than an easy outing for him ahead of his fight for the Ultimate Fighting Championship crown.

“Look, he was acting out of character, he was uncomfortable,” “The Gypsy King” said after the fight. “He wasn’t moving forward. He was working number two and waiting for me to start punching to try to counterattack. He showed himself to be a good fighter. He gave me probably one of the toughest fights I’ve had in the last ten years.”

The Briton also commented on the moment in the third round, when he missed a left side kick and was knocked down.

“That’s part of boxing. You know, I got caught with a punch to the head again. My legs didn’t go under, nothing like that – I was fine, got up, and continued the fight. What happened happened, but I got back to boxing.”

Recall that on December 23, Tyson Fury will go to the unification fight against the Ukrainian Alexander Usik, who owns the heavyweight titles in WBA, IBF, WBO and IBO.
