Tyson Fury names the future of heavyweight

British WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury (32-0-1, 23 KOs) suggested that his unbeaten 26-year-old compatriot and regular sparring partner David Adeleye (10-0, 9 KOs) has what it takes to in the foreseeable future to become the dominator of the division.

The champion stated this in an interview with
BT Sport.

“David Adeleye is the future of this division. One night I told him in the locker room, “You gotta believe in yourself, Dave, because you’re going to lead the division, buddy,” Fury said. “And he’s a great sparring partner, very, very good. If he wasn’t so good to me, I wouldn’t be bringing him regularly to my training camps.”

“He is doing an excellent job, so I continue to bring him from the second fight against Wilder. Again and again. He learns, he listens and heeds, and he could definitely be the next Lancaster Bomber,” Tyson said.

In 2022, Adeleye limited himself to two passing fights, stopping a compatriot
Chris Healy (TKO 4) and Mexican
Elvis Garcia (KO 2). Prior to this, no one of note in David’s track record is also found.
