“Tough” decisions of the WBC: what awaits the champions Rivas and Makabu

The day before, as part of the annual Congress of the World Boxing Council (WBC), a number of decisions were made regarding obligations for full and “interim” champions.

About what was decided on the heavyweight, we reported earlier. And here is the news on bridgeweight (up to 101.6 kg) and heavyweight (up to 90.7 kg).

Bridgerweight: after several unsuccessful attempts to organize a fight between the current champion Colombian Oscar Rivas (28-1, 19 KOs) and Pole Lukasz Rozanski (14-0, 13 KOs) in Colombia, a decision was made to hold the fight in Poland. If he wins, Rivas will have to make a second mandatory defense in a row, in which he will face the winner of the Candidates match between Croat Alen Babić (11-0, 10 KOs) and Riyad Merhi (31-1, 26 KOs) from Belgium.

Meanwhile, a new mandatory challenger will be determined in a full-time confrontation between Tabiso Mchunu (23-6, 13 KOs) from South Africa and the Swedish ex-champion in two categories lower than Badu Jack (27-3-3, 16 KOs).
