Top British coach Dominic Ingle severely smashed his compatriot, former unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua (24-3, 22 KOs). The mentor does not like that the big man changes coaches after each defeat.
Opinion Ingla: “If people like Robert Garcia can’t help Joshua, then it means only one thing – the problem is not with the coach, but with the fighter. What would I advise Anthony? Push aside all those people who now make up his team, and trust a cool specialist. Drop your ego and just listen and do whatever the mentor says.”
Engle is sure that “until he does this, do not expect any improvement or progress from him. Understand, it’s not about the coach. The problem is that he is surrounded by people who tell him completely different things, at times they completely contradict what the head coach says. Hangers sat on him. And until he gets rid of them, don’t expect anything good from Joshua. I think, sooner or later, he will understand it himself.”
Interestingly, Ingle is far from the first person to talk about this. Back in August, a British columnist reported that the entire Joshua camp did not see eye to eye with the new coach. It is possible that Garcia will continue to work with Joshua. The mentor tried to dot the i’s.
