Tony Ferguson reacted to Conor McGregor’s challenge to him

Former interim UFC lightweight champion Tony Ferguson has reacted to Conor McGregor, who brought up an old conflict with the American by promising to straighten him out in the octagon.

“Ah, there’s my s****. It took a few months to get your attention? Remember when you worked for me, I fired you because you weren’t doing your job. When you resolve the legal issues just sign your name, you cowardly champion,” Ferguson wrote on social media.

On July 29 at UFC 291 in Salt Lake City, Tony Ferguson suffered his sixth straight defeat, losing by arm-triangle choke in the third round to fellow countryman Bobby Green, but made it clear that he had no intention of ending his professional career.

Conor McGregor announced the day before that he would not be able to make his scheduled fight with Michael Chandler in December, as the Nevada State Athletic Commission requires him to return to the American Anti-Doping Agency’s testing pool and undergo a full doping test. The Irishman last stepped into the octagon in July 2021, suffering a severe leg fracture in the final match of his trilogy against Dustin Puryear.
