Tony Ferguson announces himself as rival for Conor McGregor

Former interim UFC lightweight champion Tony Ferguson claims that he will be the second coach at the next The Ultimate Fighter show, in which Conor McGregor announced the day before.

“I was asked to coach TUF against a fat trust or whatever I choose if that candy eater doesn’t show up. I am always ready – anytime, anywhere. And I chose you, McNucker! See you soon,” the American fighter wrote on the social network.

UFC representatives have not yet made any statements about the filming of the 31st season of TUF, which should start in the near future.

Tony Ferguson, 38, suffered his fifth straight loss in September last year when he lost by fourth-round guillotine choke to Nate Diaz. A few months earlier, the American tried to promote the idea of his participation in TUF with Khabib Nurmagomedov, however, things did not go beyond talk.

34-year-old Conor McGregor last entered the octagon in July 2021, having received a severe leg fracture in a duel against Dustin Poirier, and six months before that, he lost to the American by knockout in the second round.
