Tony Ferguson and Kevin Lee rematch in development

A rematch between Tony Ferguson and Kevin Lee could be part of the UFC 290 tournament, which will be held July 8 in Las Vegas.

This Kevin Lee, returning to the strongest league in the world after almost two years of absence, said in an interview with Helen Ye.

“Looks like we’re going to fight Tony,” Lee stated. “A lot of people want to see this rematch. It’s a great fight for Tony, a great fight for me, and a great fight for the UFC. As far as I know, we will do it at International Fight Week.”

In October 2017, Kevin Lee made an unsuccessful bid for the Interim UFC Lightweight Championship, losing to Tony Ferguson via triangle choke in the third round.

In February of this year, Kevin Lee signed a new contract with the strongest league in the world, which he left in 2021 on a two-losing streak. Last March, the 30-year-old American fighter got his career back on track with a unanimous decision win over Diego Sanchez at Eagle FC 46.

Tony Ferguson, 39, suffered his fifth consecutive loss last September, losing to Nate Diaz via fourth-round guillotine choke.
