Tom Aspinall made a statement about his UFC title fight against Sergei Pavlovic

No. 4 ranked UFC heavyweight Tom Aspinall commented on the news that he will face Sergey Pavlovic in an interim UFC heavyweight title fight on Nov. 11 at UFC 295 in New York City.

“Good morning everyone. Yes, the rumors turned out to be true – I’m fighting Sergey Pavlovich in two weeks,” the Brit said in a video posted on social media. “Right now my phone is ringing off the hook. People are asking questions, asking for tickets, asking for interviews. I will limit my social media presence because I only have two weeks to prepare for the fight as best as I can in such a short period of time. I appreciate your support, and I will most likely see you on the other side, because right now I don’t have the ability to answer all the phone calls and messages”

Earlier, UFC head, Dana White, officially announced that reigning UFC heavyweight champion, Jon Jones, tore a pectoral muscle and pulled out of his bout against Stipe Miocic to headline the next numbered event of the world’s strongest league.

Since the American’s recovery will take at least eight months, the organization’s management decided to play a temporary title between the Russian and the Briton, whose fight will be the second most important event of the tournament.

Jiri Prochazka and Alex Pereira were announced as the new headliners of the show, who will have to play for the vacant UFC light heavyweight championship belt.

Recall that Sergey Pavlovich was preparing for UFC 295 as a reserve participant in the title fight.
