Tom Aspinall made a statement about fighting Alex Pereira at UFC 300

Interim UFC heavyweight champion, Tom Aspinall, has commented on another wave of rumors that his fight against current UFC light heavyweight titleholder, Alex Pereira, will headline the UFC 300 anniversary event.

“For my part, I haven’t heard anything yet,” the Brit said in a video posted on social media. “Like I said, I’m not someone who turns down fights. I’m not really looking for a fight against Pereira, but if it’s available and it’s offered to me, I’ll take it. I’m ready to fight. Just let me know, it’s simple. Give me a name and a date.”

“I’m very easy to talk me into fighting. Every time the UFC offers me a fight, I say ‘yes.’ I never ask questions of who, where, when – nothing like that. Make me an offer and I’ll probably say ‘yes’.”

According to Aspinall, he plans to have at least two fights this year.

“I’d like to do two fights – that would be ideal. I think if we can have one at the beginning of the summer and the second one at the end of the year, that’s realistic. Of course I’d like more, but you have to be realistic. Two fights a year is realistic and definitely doable. It’s ideal.”

As a reminder, the UFC 300 anniversary event will take place on April 13 in Las Vegas and is still without a main event.
