“Since my first fight with Blades, my confidence has grown a lot,” the Brit told talkSPORT MMA. “I’m better in every way now. I’ve become a new version of myself and Blades has gotten better too, so it’s a new fight this time, but I’ll go out there and try to finish it as early as possible.”
“I’m fighting Curtis Blades, so Jon Jones and all the politics surrounding him are irrelevant right now – I’m only focused on the upcoming fight and nothing else. If I win this fight, and I will, my next fight will definitely be for the current title. If I have to wait, I’ll do it.”
Earlier, it was reported that Tom Aspinall would automatically lose his interim championship belt when the division’s reigning champion, Jon Jones, makes his title defense against Stipe Miocic.
According to Jones, his fight with Miocic, for which he will receive fifteen million dollars, will headline UFC 309 in New York on November 9, while the fight between Aspinall and Blades will take place on July 27 at UFC 304 in Manchester.
