Tim Tszyu compared Harrison to his previous rivals

Australian junior middleweight contender Tim Tszyu (21-0, 15 KOs) was very disappointed that the undisputed champion in this weight, American Jermell Charlo (35-1-1, 19 KOs) was injured during training, after which he was forced to withdraw from the fight .

Tszyu immediately told his team that he was not going to be idle and asked them to organize a fight for him with the strongest opponent – that’s how he got the fight for the interim WBO title with American Tony Harrison (29-3-1, 21 KOs), the only offender Charlo.

“So I can prepare as much as possible for the“ American style ”, because here in Australia they box differently – here most often the fighters close their eyes and knead until one of them falls, –
jokes applicant. Australia has a lot more big overhands and wild swings. But “American style” – it’s different – it’s smarter boxing. Here it is more difficult to bring the fist to the target, here the fighters are faster, with excellent reflexes, long, smart. And Harrison has it all.”

Tszyu plans to exert the most powerful pressure on the opponent – this is a previously proven tactic against Harrison: “I will box a little differently than it was in the previous fight. After all, he is definitely one of the top fighters in the division, and there are no more than 1% of them. Don’t forget that he was the one who beat Charlo. That is, you can say that I will fight with a boar that beat the main boar. Yes, for me, for my career, this is a great step forward.

Tszyu believes that “my defense is often underestimated. Maybe it looks a little different on TV than it really is. Therefore, Harrison will be shocked by what he sees. I’m not just tearing my ass in the hall non-stop. As you know, hard work always brings results. I know that Tony is already almost in the weight limit. He is a true professional, no doubt about it. The plan for the fight is simple – drag him into the “deep waters”, and then put him to the bottom. Do not give up, do not give the opportunity to take a breath. To deprive him of air and sink. That’s the plan.”

Earlier, Tszyu commented on the upcoming fight, and his promoter believes that this is “a huge risk for Tim.”
