Australian first middleweight prospect Nikita Tszyu told how his older brother Tim Tszyu (21-0, 15 KOs) is preparing for the duel scheduled for January 28 against the absolute champion of the category up to 69.9 kg American Jermell Charlo (35-1-1, 19 KO).
According to Nikita, Tim’s attitude does not bode well for Charlo.
“My grandfather (Boris Tszyu) talks to him every day and notes that he (Tim) is in a very good position, with a very good attitude. He understands the scale of this event and the opportunity that has fallen to him. He’s just incredibly focused, it’s crazy. Even if you just look at how he trains, how he approaches the matter, everything is completely different, ”notes Nikita.
“I sparred with him for a few rounds as part of my final training and saw him as a new beast,” he continues. “I feel sorry for Charlo for what he has to go through. Tim is a scary guy when he’s in this state. He is very technical, it is very difficult to hit him, he works a lot on defense and endurance. Combined with his style of terminator that breaks people, this is extremely difficult to resist. The same story with Gennady Golovkin, who has both technique and power.”
And Tim Tszyu himself believes that he will be more powerful than the 32-year-old “old man” Charlo and is going to shake Las Vegas the way Kostya Tszyu did 21 years ago.
