Former light heavyweight world champion American Chad Dawson shared his prediction for the upcoming third fight between Mexican Canelo Alvarez (57-2-2, 39 KOs) and Kazakh Gennady Golovkin (42-1-1, 37 KOs), which will take place on September 17 in Las Vegas. Vegas (USA).
According to Dawson, the last fight between Alvarez and Dmitry Bivol revealed the weaknesses of the Mexican, which GGG will take advantage of.
“Honestly, I thought Golovkin won the first fight and Canelo won the second. As for the third, I think it will remain with Golovkin,” Chad suggested. “I think GGG can learn a lot from[Canelo]vs Bivol. If you go back to this fight, I think you can see some of the mistakes Canelo made. Everyone knows Golovkin as a big puncher and he probably hits as hard as Bivol. In my opinion, Golovkin has something to prove, he will enter the ring as ready as possible for this fight and this time he will achieve victory.
Recall that unlike the first two fights, which ended in a draw and victory for Alvarez on points, the third fight will take place in super middleweight (up to 76.2 kg), where Canelo owns all four prestigious titles.
Meanwhile, Golovkin noted that he doesn’t need to be Bivol to beat Canelo, and also promised that there will be many surprises in their third fight.
