Thiago Santos and Rizvan Kuniev out of current PFL season

Former UFC light heavyweight contender Thiago Santos and former Eagle FC heavyweight champion Rizvan Kuniev, who debuted under the PFL banner in April, are out of the current season’s roster after failing drug tests.

The Brazilian and Russian were accompanied by Polish light heavyweight Krzysztof Jotko and Brazilian heavyweight Bruno Cappelozza, who also failed the doping test. About what kind of prohibited substances were found in each of the fighters, and what terms of disqualification they will have to face, is not reported.

Each of the fighters managed to fight one fight in the 2023 season – Thiago Santos and Krzysztof Jotko were defeated, losing by decisions to Rob Wilkinson and Will Flury, respectively, Rizvan Kuniev won by decision against Henan Ferreira, and Bruno Cappelozza finished by technical knockout of Matheus Scheffil.

According to the PFL calendar, Santos and Yotko were scheduled to fight again on June 8 at PFL 4 in Atlanta, while Kuniev and Kappelozza had no scheduled fights.
