On June 5, the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation opened a criminal case into the death of 16-year-old Bogdan Pushkarev, who died in the hospital after he missed a kick to the head at the MMA Open Cup in Belogorsk.
According to the regulations, 16- and 17-year-old competitors were required to perform in open-type boxing helmets, however, for some reason, this rule was not strictly observed.
