The legendary champion failed to determine the favorite in the Davis-Garcia duel

Top and insanely popular American lightweights Gervonta Davis (27-0, 25 KOs) and Ryan Garcia (23-0, 19 KOs) are in difficult negotiations to organize a face-to-face fight. It is possible that they will fight in December of this year.

Most fans and experts consider the more experienced Davis, the reigning WBA World champion, the conqueror of three divisions, to be the clear favorite of the confrontation.

But the legendary Roy Jones Jr. is not at all
sure: “To be honest, I don’t consider Garcia an underdog, because he still has too explosive punches. This is a very, very explosive fighter. And I’m afraid the fans just don’t see it or don’t understand it. I remember that Garcia was knocked down once (against Luke Campbell), and “Tank” Davis was never on the floor. But I think Ryan has the power to knock anyone out.”

Jones hopes that the parties will agree, because “it will be a very beautiful fight. They are both good, both at their peak, both at the top of the food chain. “Tank” has more experience in title fights, but they are both handsome, positive dudes. To be honest, I’m comparing this potential fight to a fight between Ray Leonard and Tommy Hearns. (best fight of 1981, Leonard won by TKO 11). It seems to me that in such a duel everything will be decided by the one who is the first to be able to bring his fist to the goal – that one, perhaps, will win.

Meanwhile, the undisputed division champion Devin Haney called “Tank” Davis a clown and offended Pedraza at the same time. Interestingly, even Canelo shared his prediction for the Davis-Garcia fight. But the legendary James Toney is categorical: “Garcia vs Tank? Tank kill.
