The Klitschko brothers spoke at the World Economic Forum in Davos

Legendary Ukrainian heavyweight champions Vitaliy and Wladimir Klitschko performed at World Economic Forum in Davos (Switzerland). The hottest topic of the meeting was the discussion of the consequences of the criminal invasion of the Russian army into the territory of independent Ukraine, which began in February 2022.

The brothers insist on the need to boycott the supply of Russian oil and gas, to introduce even tougher sanctions against Russian banks and enterprises, as well as a complete boycott of athletes from the Russian Federation. The legendary champions are sure that this is the only way to stop the war in Ukraine, the killing of civilians by the invaders.

Vitaliy Klichko: “I appeal to all politicians in Europe and the world. Do not think that Ukraine is somewhere far away. Do not think that this is only our problem, that it will not affect you. Believe that in this way you will make the biggest mistake of your life. After all, this war threatens to destabilize the situation not only in the region, but throughout the world. It can cause irreparable damage to the whole of Europe. That is why now we especially need the consolidation of all countries. This is the main key to success, the main key to peace.”

“It is very important to present a united front. It is very important to stop the war. It is very important to take on the responsibilities and do our bit to finally stop Russia and liberate Ukraine, an independent democratic country,” added the eternal WBC champion and current mayor of the Ukrainian capital.

Vladimir Klichko recalled that due to Russia’s actions, the whole world is experiencing a food crisis and called on the countries of the world to open a humanitarian corridor in the Black Sea in order to establish grain exports blocked by the occupiers: “The consequences of this war are simply frightening. After all, Ukraine is one of the largest suppliers of grain to Africa and Asia. If we do not act now, then soon a food crisis will begin in these regions.”

On the need to remove Russian athletes, including from participation in the Olympic Games: “Here, in Lausanne, in the Olympic Committee, it is necessary to make a strong-willed decision to isolate Russian athletes from the Olympic Games. Only in this way will we show the Russian Federation that these war crimes must be stopped immediately. And you need to act quickly, because every day innocent people die. If you could only see the face of war… It’s terrible. And we have already encountered it. We have seen genocide, we have seen the killing of innocents: the bodies of young women and the elderly. They were tortured, they were executed by shots in the back of the head. Their hands were tied behind their backs. It all started in Russia. For this reason alone, we are asking for her complete isolation.”

Klitschko Sr.: “In any case, we will win, because we have no other choice. Give up? No, this is not an option. We fight for our future, for our land, for our homes, for our loved ones, for wives, children and mothers. We are more than just confident in our victory. We will stop the war and throw the invaders out of here. Ukraine will again be part of a single democratic European family.”

Earlier, Vitali Klitschko appealed to all the leading boxing organizations, which verbally promised support to Ukraine, but in reality their promises turned out to be a complete linden: “Vladimir will dip your titles in a bucket of blood.” And Klitschko Jr. said that Russia needs Ukraine, but without Ukrainians. Interestingly, he was planning a comeback that is no longer possible: He wanted to offer Tyson Fury a “last dance”.
