The Jiri Prochazka vs Alex Pereira fight has been officially scheduled

The fight between Jiri Prochazka and Alex Pereira to challenge for the vacant UFC flyweight championship belt will take place on Nov. 11 at UFC 295 in New York City.

UFC CEO Dana White officially announced the bout, which will be the second-to-last event of the numbered event.

Last June, Jiri Prochazka won the UFC flyweight title by finishing Glover Teixeira with a fifth-round rear-naked choke, but in December, the Czech fighter was forced to forfeit his rematch with the Brazilian and vacate the title after suffering a severe shoulder injury in training.

As a result, the holder of the vacant belt was Jamal Hill, who defeated Teixeira by unanimous decision, however, the American was also forced to vacate the title after suffering an ankle injury during a basketball game.

Alex Pereira, who lost his UFC middleweight championship belt in April in a rematch with Israel Adesanya, made a successful debut in the organization’s welterweight division in July, winning a split decision over Jan Blachowicz.

The main event of UFC 295 will be a heavyweight title fight between Jon Jones and Stipe Miocic.
