According to the head of the organization, published on social networks, former UFC light heavyweight champion, Jiri Prochazka, will meet with the number five ranked Aleksandar Rakic in the numbered event, and former UFC lightweight titleholder, Aljamain Sterling, will make his debut in the welterweight division with a fight against Kelvin Kattar.
Also competing in the tournament will be rising middleweight star Bo Nickal, who will face Cody Brundage.
Last May, Aleksandar Rakic was unable to continue his fight with Jan Blachowicz after suffering a third-round knee injury and has not returned to the octagon since, while Jiri Prochazka made a failed attempt to regain his championship belt last month at UFC 295 in New York, losing by TKO in the second round to Alex Pereira.
Aljamain Sterling lost his championship belt this past August, losing by second-round TKO to fellow countryman Sean O’Malley, while Kelvin Kattar is riding a two-fight losing streak, having lost by split decision to Josh Emmett and suffering a knee injury against Arnold Allen.
Bon Nickal is undefeated and has five professional victories to his credit, two of which came under the UFC banner, finishing Jamie Pickett with an arm-triangle choke finish and knocking out Valentine Woodburn.
Cody Bruyndage closed out a three-fight losing streak this year by defeating disqualified Jacob Melcoon, and knocking out Zach Reese.
As a reminder, UFC 300 will take place April 13 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
