The former contender for the UFC middleweight title announced this in the next issue of the MMA Hour program.
According to Costa, he agreed with the UFC on a new contract, and is currently considering two proposals – to meet in May with Sean Strickland, or in October to split the octagon with Khamzat Chimaev.
“I have not yet signed a contract, but we have agreed with the UFC on payment,” said the Brazilian fighter. “It wasn’t easy and we did a great job”
“The UFC wants the fight with Chimaev to be a must, but I want to do both of these fights, so we’ll see”
31-year-old Paulo Costa in February was supposed to fight the last fight under the current agreement with the UFC against Robert Whittaker, but dropped out of the UFC 284 tournament due to contractual disagreements with the organization.
The Brazilian last entered the octagon in August last year, defeating former UFC middleweight champion Luke Rockhold by unanimous decision, and is currently ranked fifth in the UFC middleweight rankings.
