Former UFC champion flew into a deaf knockout
Former two-time UFC heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic commented on his loss to Francis Ngannou at UFC 260. The Cameroonian knocked out Miocic in the second round and became the new world heavyweight champion.
“First of all, I want to say that I am fine. I know that the fall was not the most graceful, but I was unconscious – it happens.
There’s nothing good about defeat, it always hurts for a while, but that’s the way we do business. You can’t win every fight, and it’s important to understand that losing is as much a part of the sport (and life) as winning.
Unfortunately, I deviated from the plan for the fight. I felt great coming into the second round and saw that everything was starting to go according to plan. The opponent was exhausted, and I rushed forward without thinking about defense. I was not in the best position to take this hit. He saw the gap and did what any great fighter would do.
It was my mistake, which I admit, this will not happen again. Finally, I want to congratulate Francis Ngannou and his team on a well-deserved victory. Saturday night was yours, enjoy your win!” Miocic wrote on Instagram.
