The experiments are over. Wilder reveals how much he’ll weigh to fight Helenius

Former world heavyweight champion American Deontay Wilder (42-2-1, 41 KOs) completed experiments with weight and came to an unequivocal conclusion with how many kilograms he feels best in the ring.

Recall that Wilder is scheduled to fight Robert Helenius (31-3, 19 KOs) on October 15, and this time Deontay is going to weigh much less than in the third fight with Tyson Fury.

“Weight will not be a concern for us before this fight or ever in the future,” Wilder said. You know, we gained a lot of weight before the last fight (against Fury), just because of the expectations of others, and I myself was interested in seeing my physique with such a weight. But at this point in time, I’m back to what I’m used to and what I’m comfortable with. It will be under 100 kg or maybe less.”

“I felt a little sluggish and heavy[in the third fight with Fury],” says Deontay. – I mean, you have to understand that I have never weighed under 110 kg in my life before. But I deliberately went for this experiment, and we did what we had to do. This is an experience that will stay with me forever, and the only way to become wise is to apply knowledge in life. We learned a lot from this and now we know what to do next.”

And Wilder also spoke about when he will end his career, and what he will do after that.
