According to ESPN, the heavyweights’ fight on March 9 will headline an evening of boxing to be held in the Saudi capital of Riyadh on March 9.
The American and the Briton signed a bout agreement despite the fact that both are scheduled to step into the ring on December 23 in Riyadh, where Wilder will face former world champion Joseph Parker in the main event of the event and Joshua will share the ring with Otto Wallin.
Former WBC titleholder Deontay Wilder had his last fight last October, knocking out Finnish heavyweight Robert Helenius in the first round to close out two early losses to Tyson Fury.
Anthony Joshua has had two fights this year, winning a unanimous decision over Jermaine Franklin and knocking out Robert Helenius in the seventh round. Prior to that, the Briton lost two decisions to Ukrainian Oleksandr Usik, who took away his WBA Super, WBO, IBF and IBO titles.
