Teofimo Lopez warns super lightweight champions

On August 13 in Las Vegas (USA), former world lightweight champion American Teofimo Lopez (16-1, 12 KOs) will enter the ring for the first time after an unexpected defeat on points from George Kambosos in November last year.

Lopez will make his debut in super lightweight (up to 63.5 kg) and will meet with Mexican Pedro Campa (34-1-1, 23 KOs).

Teofimo Lopez is back! I conquered the lightweight division and I plan to do the same with the super lightweight, says Teofimo. Pedro Campa is a tough competitor with an aggressive Mexican style and I can’t wait to put on a show for the fans. Each of us goes through trials, but I have left the past behind. I call the upcoming fight “Return of the Lost” because I am going to return what I have lost. One loss doesn’t define a fighter, and it won’t define me.”

“I competed in lightweight from a young age, it was time to go higher. Here I will be even better, I will be a more explosive fighter. You will see it for yourself on August 13, Lopez promises. I am only 25 years old and my best years are yet to come. Pedro Campa is the start of a new boss in my career. Very soon I will be world champion in two categories. Every super lightweight contender and champion better be on the lookout because I’m on my way to clean up this division.”
