Ex-coach and boxing columnist Teddy Atlas demands from fans to pay tribute to boxing YouTuber from the USA Jake Paul (6-1, 4 KOs), who suffered his debut loss in his career over the weekend – lost to Briton Tommy Fury (9-0, 4) by a split decision. KO).

By
opinion Atlas, “Fury used his name to get this fight. Indeed, in boxing, he achieved absolutely nothing, fought only with very technically limited opponents. Paul took a really competitive fight. But he didn’t have enough to win. Let’s be frank. Both of them were not and never will be world-class fighters. And Fury did not convince me that he was able to beat a really serious fighter. Therefore, I think it is pointless to talk about its prospects.”

According to Atlas, “This fight is entirely due to Paul. And only him. He made a name for himself from scratch, built his career brick by brick, carefully thought out and held this event. Yes, it was he who created the environment for this fight and similar events. It was he who raised celebrity fights to some completely different level. And trust me, he didn’t hurt himself at all with that defeat. And even vice versa. He earned even more respect than before. After all, he agreed to fight against a real boxer.

Atlas invites fans to pay tribute to Paul and is confident that we will see a rematch with Fury: “He didn’t just go up against a real boxer. He had a competitive fight. Yes, he wanted to win. But the fight turned out to be quite good, so why don’t they do it again? Especially since I don’t know what other options Paul might have. Did he need a zero in the defeat column? Well, except at the previous stage of his career. When everyone was wondering, “How far can he go?”

The revenge will indeed take place, because the event turned out to be very commercially successful: “PPV is off the charts”. And Paul’s brother is not impressed with Fury’s victory: “You have to kill the YouTuber.”
