The organization of the fight was reported by informed sources close to the situation.
In June of this year, 29-year-old Taila Santos made an unsuccessful attempt to take the championship belt from Valentina Shevchenko, losing to the Bullet by a split decision after five rounds. Prior to that, Santos had won her fourth straight UFC win, winning by rear naked choke in the first round against Joanne Wood.
Erin Blanchfield, 23, who moved from Invicta FC to the UFC in 2020, has won four victories in the organization, finishing Molly McCann as a Kimura in the first round in the last fight.
Taila Santos and Erin Blanchfield are currently ranked second and tenth in the UFC women’s flyweight division, respectively.
