The notorious American lightweight Rolando “Rolly” Romero (14-1, 12 KOs), who was almost unheard of after a crushing knockout defeat from Gervonta Davis (28-0, 26 KOs) in May last year, unexpectedly went on the air the day before and announced that it is he, and not Davis, who will fight in April with compatriot Ryan Garcia (23-0, 19 KOs).
“I fight in April with Ryan Garcia, and
he said, — and the winner of our fight will get Tank (Davis) in the summer. Ryan and I will fight and after that in the summer I will get a rematch with Tank.
Interestingly, according to Romero, he and Garcia allegedly even signed a contract for a fight in April.
Even more interesting, Ryan’s promoter Oscar De La Hoya has also already presented his ward’s contract to fight Davis in April.
Someone is clearly “tryndit”. And it’s actually not hard to guess who it is. “What are you using, Rolly?” – just in case, the fans asked Rolando in the comments.
By the way, Romero made a prediction for the Davis-Garcia fight last year.
