Sterling confirms that his fight with Petr Yan has been postponed and will not take place until April

UFC bantamweight champion Aljamain Sterling has confirmed that his rematch with Petr Yan has been postponed.

“The fight has been canceled until further notice. I continue to train and prepare. The fight will take place no earlier than April. This potato can’t run away from me forever!” Sterling wrote on Twitter.

Yesterday, January 10, it was reported that the second fight between Sterling and Jan could be rescheduled from March 5 to April 9. The first duel between the athletes took place in March 2021. Then the Russian lost due to a violation of the rules – a knee strike to an opponent in the “parterre” position. Yan later defeated Corey Sandhagen by decision for the interim UFC title.
