Spence’s new crash injuries delay his return

IBF/WBA/WBC welterweight champion Errol Spence (28-0, 22 KOs) says he will have to wait longer than usual for his return to the ring due to the aftermath of his December 10th accident. Although the injuries are not as serious as those received in a car accident in 2019, the American is still badly injured to take a break from training.

Spence, 32, said he was preparing to announce his next fight in mid-December.

“But, you know, everything started to hurt and so on, so we pushed it back a bit, we’ll have to wait for the announcement,” Errol said on Showtime.

Pacquiao ‘wants to test’ Spence

Prior to this accident, he was expected to start preparing for the fight in February.

“Probably sometime around April, May or June,” Spence said when asked for a tentative comeback timeline. “I just need to talk to the team. I hope I recover one hundred percent. I am sure that I will recover, because I have been in worse accidents. I’m fine. A couple of bruises and the like.”

A week ago, Ennis’ coach named Crawford’s weak point.
