The unified world welterweight champion (up to 66.7 kg) American Errol Spence (28-0, 22 KOs), who recently managed to again suffer in an accident, despite the incident, does not give up the idea of holding a fight for the title of absolute division champion against compatriot Terence Crawford (39-0, 30 KOs), negotiations with which this year were unsuccessful.
At the same time, Spence, who is now going to return to the ring no earlier than April, will definitely not fight Terence in the next fight.
“Recently, two weeks ago, I got into an accident, so now it’s out of my focus,” Errol answered the question about the fight against Crawford. “This is unlikely to be my next fight, but I hope it will still happen next year.”
Spence also did not reproach his colleague for deciding to withdraw from the negotiations and instead defend the title against the contender from the Russian Federation, David Avanesyan – on December 10, Terence won by knockout in the 6th round.
“I saw parts of that fight,” Errol says. “I can’t kick him for deciding to make money. He said he earned $10 million for this fight. Fighting the bag and making $10 million is cool.”
It was recently revealed that Pacquiao “wants to test” Spence and Crawford.
