So did Fury leave or didn’t he? Eddie Hearn’s opinion

Top British promoter Eddie Hearn commented on the decision of WBC world heavyweight champion Tyson Fury (32-0-1, 23 KOs) to end his career on his 34th birthday last week.

Eddie prefers not to jump to conclusions and wait for the outcome of Saturday’s rematch between Oleksandr Usyk and Anthony Joshua.

“Someone told me that Tyson Fury has announced his retirement again. Looks like he is so insecure that he does it every time Anthony Joshua fights,” Hearn said. “I don’t know at what point you’re supposed to sit there and say, ‘What I’m going to do is throw shit around to take the focus from Joshua to me.’ If you’ve self-proclaimed yourself the best heavyweight in the world, why are you so worried about Joshua?”

“He doesn’t need money, but he wants half a billion,” recalls the promoter. “I have never seen so many contradictions in anyone. I contradict myself all the time, but he’s just on another level. Let’s see what happens next after Joshua knocks out Usyk and then comes after Tyson Fury.”

Meanwhile, the World Boxing Council set a deadline for Fury.
