Virgin Hotels Las Vegas, Las Vegas, USA. took place boxing evening “Sons of Legends”in which six sons of ex-world champions and ex-contenders performed.
In the main event of the evening, the vacant US heavyweight belt (over 90.7 kg) was played by local unbeaten prospects, the sons of ex-world champions Hasim Rahman and Tommy Morrison –
Hasim Rahman Jr. (12-1, 6 KOs) and
James Mackenzie Morrison (20-0-2, 18 KOs).
Early victory celebrated Morrison. The beginning of the fight was for Rahman – he turned out to be much better than his opponent in pure-boxing. But the constant pressure of the aggressor has borne fruit. Morrison increasingly brought his fists to the target. In the 4th round, the big man finally took over the initiative, and in the 5th he dropped his opponent. He got to his feet, tried to continue the fight, but soon the referee was forced to intervene.
Morrison TKO 5.
American lightweight prospect (up to 61.2 kg) Keith Hunter (15-1, 9 KOs), son of ex-challenger
Mike Hunterdefeated a compatriot
Demarius Driver (12-1, 7 KOs).
It was, perhaps, the coolest fight on the card, both of them showed a very decent level. Hunter looked slightly better than his opponent, but the fight was more competitive than the cards say: 99-91, 97-93 and 97-93.
Hunter UD 10.
American welterweight (up to 66.7 kg)
Alcibiade “Roberto” Duran (9-2, 7 KOs), the son of the legendary Roberto Duran, lost without options to a young compatriot
Arturo Moreno (6-0, 2 KOs).
Duran Jr. likes to talk about the difficult relationship with his father (they do not communicate), but at the same time, apparently, he does not mind using his name for hype. The fight went the whole distance, but was not competitive: 60-54, 59-55 and 58-56.
Moreno UD 6.
Note: to the winner only 19 years old, but Duran is 33 years old.
First middleweight fighter (up to 69.9 kg)

Reyes Sanchez (7-2, 3 KOs), who had previously done well in the fight with the “grandson of Muhammad Ali” Nico Ali Walsh.
The fight went all the way. Judges’ verdict: 60-54, 60-54 and 59-55.
