Shot of the day: sensational African helps Usyk prepare for a rematch with Joshua

Heavyweight from the DRC Martin Bakole Ilunga (18-1, 13 KOs) announced himself publicly in May in Paris (France) – he sensationally inflicted his debut defeat on the local Olympic champion of the division’s top prospect Tony Yoke (11-1, 9 KOs).

Bakole is known for not wasting time – he constantly helps the best fighters in the division as a sparring partner, thereby honing his skills.

The African through social networks shared footage and a video of how he is going to Dubai (UAE) to the unified heavyweight champion Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk (19-0, 13 KOs) – he will help in preparing for the rematch with Briton Anthony Joshua (24-2, 22 KO). The first fight between them took place in September in London – Usyk won by decision of the judges. The second fight will take place on August 20 in Saudi Arabia.

Bakole went to Usyk not alone, but with a small, pretty smile:

And here they are at the Dubai airport:

Bakole has already had a sparring session with Usyk. Beautifully captioned joint picture: “Enjoying the time spent in the ring with the best of the best. Because I know I’m one of them.”

Yesterday, promoter Eddie Hearn shared his version of the top 11 heavyweights in boxing history. Was there a place for Usyk and Joshua? And yesterday it became known that Derek Chisora is flying to Saudi Arabia – he will be in Joshua’s corner during the rematch with Usyk.
