Sergey Pavlovich called the key factor in the fight with Curtis Blades

Russian heavyweight Sergei Pavlovich, who will share the octagon with American Curtis Blades this weekend, sees himself as the winner of a potential challenger showdown, but does not think that he will, as usual, be able to knock out an opponent in the first round.

“Patience will be key,” Pavlovich told Sports Illustrated. “I can’t foresee the future, but I don’t think the fight will end in the first round. Curtis also knows what the stakes are. A potential title shot is at stake.”

“Some people might think that I don’t know how to wrestle, but that’s not true. I can do more than just stand up. This is mixed martial arts. I have studied my opponent and am ready for everything he has to offer.”

“To move forward, you need to meet the best. I am very hungry. I’m trained and ready to fight. This is the most important fight of my career – looking forward to getting into the cage and doing my job. I can say for sure, it will be a war. It has always been my dream to fight in the UFC and I will keep going until I am at the very top.”

Recall that the heavyweight fight between Sergey Pavlovich and Curtis Blades will be the main event of the UFC Fight Night 222 tournament, which will be held on April 22 in Las Vegas.
