Sergei Pavlovich turned to Dmitry Bivol

Former challenger for the UFC interim heavyweight championship belt, Sergei Pavlovic, has offered words of support to his compatriot Dmitry Bivol, who is set to make his WBA light heavyweight title defense this weekend.

“Dmitry Bivol will have to defend his WBA title on December 23,” the Russian fighter said in a video posted on social media. “The whole country will be worried and cheering for Dmitry. I in turn want to wish Dmitry good preparation and without injuries. Well and most importantly, victory! Dmitry, we are with you!”

On December 23 at the event in Riyadh, Dmitry Bivol will share the ring with the British Lyndon Arthur, who holds the IBO light heavyweight boxing world title.

Sergey Pavlovic had his last fight on Nov. 11 at UFC 295 in New York, losing by first-round knockout to Britain’s Tom Aspinall in a fight for the interim UFC heavyweight title.
