Sergei Pavlovich: “I want to raise the flag so everyone can see where I come from!”

UFC heavyweight division number three Sergey Pavlovic, who suffered an early defeat in his interim title fight against Tom Aspinall, expects to get his career back on track in his next fight and celebrate his victory with a public display of the Russian flag.

“I think you look at me and it’s so clear where I’m from and what country I represent,” the Russian knockout artist said in an interview with Match TV. “I’ll be waiting when it’s possible to raise the flag. I certainly want to raise the flag after the victory, so they can see where I come from.”

After losing to the Brit by knockout as early as 69 seconds into the match, Pavlovic is not going to rush his return to the octagon and will take a timeout.

“An unsatisfactory result is also a result. Now I’m thinking about taking a timeout. We need to slow down in order to calmly recover and move on to new fights. We will go through diagnostics and then decide how long it will take”

In a recent interview, Sergey Pavlovich stated that he plans to fight again closer to the summer of next year.
