“Search and Destruction”. Bellew advised Joshua on a rematch with Usyk

British ex-world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua (24-2, 22 KOs) should not step on the same rake and try to box with Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk (19-0, 13 KOs) when they meet in a rematch for WBA titles / WBO/IBF. Joshua has to enter the ring with one single goal – to drag Usyk into a fight in order to destroy him.

This opinion in conversation with
DAZN said the former world champion in the heavy category, Joshua’s compatriot and Usyk’s ex-rival, Tony Bellew.

“A change of scenery will do AJ good,” Belew said. — Fresh ideas and a different attitude. For me, the biggest factor in the upcoming fight will be what’s in Joshua’s head. There must be a search and destroy attitude, nothing else. Don’t box with a boxer, but drag him into a fight.”

“You won’t find anyone as good as Usyk,” Tony notes. – If someone is as good, he becomes the world champion. Usyk can do everything. This guy is incredible.”

Bellew is aware that Ukraine is now opposing a full-scale military invasion by Russian invaders, but he does not want this to be used as an excuse for failure if Usyk is defeated:

“Now a lot of things are happening in Usyk’s life, he has a war in his country, but I don’t want to see any excuses later.”

According to promoter Eddie Hearn, the rematch should take place on August 13 or 20.
