Sean Strickland and Dricus Du Plessis have reached an agreement prior to the fight

Despite fighting Dricus Du Plessis at UFC 296 in Las Vegas, reigning UFC middleweight champion Sean Strickland has no personal animosity toward his opponent, but is ready to take him on this weekend in a life-or-death battle.

The participants of the upcoming title fight made a corresponding agreement at the pre-match press conference, shaking hands.

“It’s never been personal,” stated the American. “It’s not often you see me lose my temper, but this guy got me. I’m proud of him.”

“Dricus, can we arrange a fight to the death? To the bloody death! I respect the hell out of him for that.”

As a reminder, the middleweight title fight between Sean Strickland and Dricus Du Plessis will be the main event of UFC 297, which takes place on January 20 in Toronto, Canada.
