The organization of the fight was officially announced by representatives of the UFC.
Sean Strickland, 32, got his career back on track in January with a five-round unanimous decision win over Nassurdin Imavov. Prior to that, the American suffered two defeats in a row, losing by knockout to Alex Pereira, and losing a split decision to Jared Cannonier.
32-year-old Russian Abusupiyan Magomedov made a successful debut in the UFC in September last year, finishing with a technical knockout of Dustin Stoltzfus already in the 19th second of the fight.
Sean Strickland is currently ranked seventh in the UFC middleweight rankings, while Abusupian Magomedov is not yet in the top 15 best fighters in the division.
