Sean O’Malley Predicts Aljamain Sterling Fight

The second number of the UFC bantamweight division, Sean O’Malley, who last weekend assessed the dimensions of Aljamain Sterling in the battle of views, is not going to bring the fight with the reigning champion to a judge’s decision.

“When I stood next to him, I realized that in fact this guy is not as big as it seems on TV,” O’Malley told The Schmo. “The dude is tough, full of muscles, he has long arms, but he is not as big as he seems. It was great to stand face to face with him, to appreciate his size, to look into his eyes.

“I am a sniper and Aljo is constantly moving forward. His clumsy technique is effective in MMA, you have to give him credit, because sometimes you look and you don’t understand what he is doing, but look what he has achieved. So, his clumsiness is effective in MMA, but I’m sure I can put him down because I’m a real sniper. You can’t just go ahead with me, because I’ll find his jaw, and I’ll do it more than once. I won’t say that I will turn off his light with one punch in the first round, but I believe that I will hit him again and again until he falls.”

O’Malley also commented on the information that his fight with Sterling could take place on August 19 at UFC 292 in Boston.

“From what Dana White said, he wants this fight to take place on August 19 in Boston. It’s unofficial for now, but I don’t think Aljo has a choice.”

Earlier, bookmakers published starting odds for the upcoming title fight, according to which the champion will enter the octagon as a significant favorite.
