Sean O’Malley – Pedro Munoz. Forecast and announcement for the fight

UFC 276 tournament bout

The fight will take place on July 3 in Las Vegas (Nevada, USA) at the T-Mobile Arena and will be part of the main card of the UFC 276 PPV tournament. The estimated start of the fight is 05:00 Kyiv time. The fight will be broadcast live on Setanta Sports.

UFC bantamweight No. 13 Sean O’Malley (15-1) will face No. 9 UFC bantamweight No. 9 Pedro Munoz (19-7, 1 NC).

After the only fiasco in MMA in August 2020 at UFC 252, when O’Malley was knocked out by Marlon Vera, “Sugar” turned out to be an amazing 2021. From March to December, he knocked out Thomas Almeida, Chris Moutinho and Raulian Paiva.

Munoz has lost four of his last five fights, but he has only lost to big names. After losing to Aljamain Sterling and Frankie Edgar, Muñoz won against Jimmy Rivera before losing to Jose Aldo and Dominick Cruz in December at UFC 269. All five of those fights went the full distance.

Prediction for the fight

On the side of the younger and hungry O’Malley, the advantage in height and striking technique. Tall, agile, fast and unorthodox striker O’Malley is likely to dominate on the feet.

Munoz’s path to victory is to try to do something on the ground. But O’Malley is good at takingdown defense, so at least most of the time the veteran will have to fight on the stand. Munoz frankly surrendered, but is still dangerous in the standing position and can periodically create problems for O’Malley, but in general, Sean, if he is careful, can outplay his opponent from a distance. No one has yet managed to finish Munoz, O’Malley has a pretty good chance of becoming the first to do it, but we predict that Pedro will not allow his opponent to take too much care of the cage and survive.
