“I’m not saying I won’t fight him. I’m pretty sure I can knock anybody out, and I can definitely knock out Alex Volkanovski, but it’s going to be damn hard to do. Maybe in a year or two, if he’s still there, I’ll do it, but I think he’ll move up to lightweight.”
Sean O’Malley, who took the championship belt from Aljamain Sterling a month ago, is scheduled to make a title defense against Marlon Vera in December, and Aleksander Volkanovski’s next opponent could be Elijah Topuria, ranked fifth in the UFC’s featherweight division.
