Rumor: Ronda Rousey returns to UFC

Former Strikeforce and UFC bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey may resume her professional career in the UFC flyweight division.

This was announced at a press conference before the UFC on ESPN 49 tournament by American Chelsea Chandler, who is taking part in the event.

“I heard that Rhonda is coming back,” Chandler said. “I heard that she is coming back and will compete in the flyweight division. If I put on a great performance this weekend, I would happily welcome her into the octagon. I think it will be a great fight. While she was away, a lot has changed – people have become better, and I think now she will have a hard time with an arsenal in which there is only one elbow. As far as I understand, this is a matter of money – they managed to interest her, and she again paid attention to sports.

On July 15 at UFC on ESPN 49 in Las Vegas, 29-year-old Chelsea Chandler will fight in her second fight under the banner of the strongest league in the world, and will face Brazilian Norma Dumont.

36-year-old Ronda Rousey ended her professional career after two defeats, in 2015 losing by knockout to Holly Holm, and a year later losing by technical knockout to Amanda Nunes.
