Roy Jones predicts Wilder vs Ruiz fight

It is expected that in the first half of 2023 the final eliminator fight according to the WBC version will take place – in a face-to-face confrontation, former world champions Americans Deontay Wilder (43-2-1, 42 KOs) and Andy Ruiz (35-2, 22 KOs) will meet. The fighters will determine the mandatory challenger for the WBC title. Briton Tyson Fury (33-0-1, 24 KOs) is the reigning champion.

The legendary Roy Jones Jr appreciated
chances fighters: “How cool is this fight? As for me, in heavyweight, almost all fights between the leaders have a high chance of being spectacular. I think Wilder should pass Ruiz. But I think Andy is a cool guy too. So both have chances in this fight.”

Jones does not hide the fact that he dreams of seeing Wilder fight with ex-division leader Anthony Joshua: “If Wilder gets past Ruiz, it would be cool to finally see him fight Joshua. Moreover, Anthony fought Ruiz twice, defeated him in a rematch. And if Deontay beats Andy, then it is logical to immediately bring him to Joshua. I believe that the winner of this fight should then go to the winner of the fight (for the title of absolute world champion) between Fury and Alexander Usik.

“This is an unrealistically cool division. And now there is a lot of movement and activity in it. I can’t wait to see what happens next, ”the legend scratches his hands rather in anticipation of cool fights.

In the meantime, it became known that Usyk vs Fury may not take place – the Ukrainian must first fight Dubois, and then Hrgovic. The WBA insist on their challenger.

It’s no secret that Wilder wants Joshua, not Ruiz. The WBC has already responded to the knockout’s statement.
