Legendary boxer Roy Jones is worried about former world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua – and is pleased that his fight against WBC champion Tyson Fury, which was discussed for December, will not take place. The veteran says the bout is a blessing, as “right now he wasn’t ready to go into that fight, especially after the loss” in the Oleksandr Usyk rematch at the end of the summer.
“I think Eddie [Хирн] told him not to fight for a while, and I think that was a great idea: why come back exactly the way you were in that fight? Roy said
iFL TV. “Go and work on yourself, and then come back. So it makes more sense.”
Jones hopes to work for Joshua’s team and talks like he’s already been hired.

“I want to get you back on the right track if I can. I’m not promising anything, but we can try, Roy entices. “Let me see if we can do something. Don’t go the same way that you’ve walked the last few times. It didn’t work. Let’s try something else. So I told him [Джошуа]. The only thing I can’t give a fighter is courage and desire.”
“We need to give him a chance to become himself again, to become better. Then go fight Fury. He’s not the type to beat if you’re not at your best. You need to be at the peak for this task. You can not go to Fury after the defeat. It’s almost disrespectful to boxing because Tyson is too good for that. So I’m glad AJ isn’t fighting him,” Roy added.
