Kopylov will replace compatriot Ikram Aliskerov in the bout, who dropped out of the numbered event due to an infectious disease.
Roman Kopylov, 32, began his run in the UFC in 2019 and suffered two straight losses, losing by rear-naked choke to Karl Roberson and unanimous decision to Albert Duraev, but the former Fight Nights Global champion has since reeled off four knockout victories, most recently finishing Josh Fremd in the second round.
Anthony Hernandez, 30, is also riding a four-fight win streak, finishing Edmen Shahbazyan by third-round technical knockout in his last fight.
Anthony Hernandez is currently ranked thirteenth in the UFC middleweight rankings, while Roman Kopylov is not yet among the division’s top fighters.
