Robert Whittaker replied to Drickus Du Plessis

Former UFC middleweight champion Robert Whittaker is excited to share the Octagon with South African Dricus Du Plessis in his next fight.

“I think I read how he commented on our fight and said – I’m not here to do smart things, I’m here to fight. That’s why I’m so excited about this fight,” said the Australian in the next episode of the MMArcade podcast. “I respect these things and in this fight I will show everything that I have. I like this kind of game. It’s an art that gives satisfaction to my fighting spirit.”

“Judging by what I saw and heard about Drikus, he seems to me an honest and straightforward guy, a real warrior, demonstrating the nobility of spirit. It delights me – I’m glad that I have such an opponent. He is an adversary who treats our craft in the same way as I do. Knowing this tingles me like an electric current. I like it”

Recall that the middleweight contenders fight, the winner of which will challenge the reigning division champion Israel Adesanya, will take place on July 8 at UFC 290 in Las Vegas.
