Robert Garcia: Did Usyk break Joshua mentally? I didn’t say that!”

American-Mexican mentor Robert Garcia was preparing British heavyweight Anthony Joshua (24-3, 22 KOs) for a rematch with the unified world champion Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk (20-0, 13 KOs). The fight took place on August 20 in Jeddah (Saudi Arabia).

The applicant had a much better second fight (in the first one he almost flew in ahead of schedule), but he failed to win – he was defeated by a separate decision of the judges. After the fight, Garcia stated that Joshua lost to Usyk before the final gong.

Now the mentor
claimsthat his words were garbled: “I spoke in Spanish. Apparently they were translated into English incorrectly. My words sounded like I said some shit. But it’s not. I never speak ill of my players.”

It is possible that because of these words, Garcia and Joshua will cease cooperation. The mentor is sure that “Anthony will definitely return to boxing. He can’t just do it. He must do it. With or without my help, he will return to the ring. And it will be even stronger than before.”

By the way, about the return – Joshua after Usyk: when and with whom is the next fight? All options.

Earlier, Robert Garcia admitted. He wants Joshua to train at his gym in California. The mentor even talked about what happened to the Briton after Usyk’s defeat. In the meantime, Joshua himself returned to work and showed where he started.
