Ricardo Prasel, a former UFC hopeful: KSW pays’very similar to what the UFC pay their newcomers.’

Ex-Chelsea goalkeeper Ricardo Prasel has decided to end his pursuit of a UFC contract.

The soccer standout who became an MMA heavyweight in Brazil makes his second KSW appearance on Saturday in Lodz, Poland, and he has a new goal in mind.

“KSW are very strong in Poland,” Prasel said during an interview with MMA Fighting. He will be taking on former UFC fighter Daniel Omielanczuk at the co-main KSW 70, event. “To me, this is the biggest promotion in Europe, even though they only do events in Poland. Their pay is very close to what the UFC pays their newcomers today. It’s not clear how the situation will be if they resign. However, there is a lot of expectation about making a living and earning money in Poland .

Prasel competed for a UFC contract when he met Don’Tale Mayes at Dana White‘s Contender Series in 2019, but he lost with a second left in the opening round. The Brazilian traveled all around the globe and signed with KSW. He defeated Michal Kita at KSW’s debut in March.

Prasel thinks that, despite coming up short in DWCS, he was a stronger fighter.

“Regardless of losing or winning, we always learn something,” he said. I have learned a lot from all my fights and especially those that were lost. To make sure that it doesn’t happen again, we always learn something from defeats. KSW is an opportunity that I want to make the best of.

His opponent Omielanczuk sports a 25-12-1-1 record that includes a UFC victory over Aleksei Oleinik. Prasel regards him as a “tough opponent” who is very strategic .”

.

After being hurt in the first stanza of his KSW debut, Pratel had to work hard to win. He hopes this time to be victorious without any “suffering”.

” With or without suffering winning is what counts the most. Prasel stated that having my hands up in the final was the best thing. “I hope that’s what happens.”

“He has beaten many opponents and fought in UFC before,” Omielanczuk said. He said, “Beating someone similar to him will certainly get the attention of the entire world. But right now, I don’t want to leave KSW or try the UFC.” I’m happy to be where I am and am focused on putting on great fights here at KSW.”
