British heavyweight (up to 90.7 kg) Richard Riakpore (16-0, 12 KOs), who on the night of January 22 scored in the 4th round of two-time world champion Krzysztof Glowacki, challenged all current belt holders.
He first recalled in the post-match
interviewwhich he predicted before the fight – he would finish it in the 3rd-4th round, and so it happened.
“Jay Opetaya, I know you are watching this right now; believe we will come for you. Makabu! You can’t run away anymore. Okoli, Arsen Gulamiryan… I think about all of you every day before going to bed. Believe me, I will come for you,” promised Riakpore, who had previously promised to “release the demon.”
Another British prospect, Chris Billam-Smith (17-1, 12 KOs), entered the ring with him, who they want to meet Richard in a title fight in the future somewhere in a large stadium in Britain.
He stated that he understands why Riakpore did not name him – they say, we are all aimed at winning titles, but then! ..
